"I wrote this poem this past summer while attending the Kenyon Review Young Writers Workshop. In the workshop, alongside aspired writers, I was encouraged to express my unique experiences going to school in a foreign country and culture. I voiced my frustration, joy, and nostalgia through a juxtaposition of imageries from both the Chinese and American cultures."
